Mine dosn't show this.. may be this is coz my upgrade path was 7.0 -> 7.1b1

mandrake is my choice of Linux too.. and thats why I want to see it
growing.
I reason I am little bit pissed off with mandrake is that upgrade to 7.1
from 7.0 takes 12 hrs and installation takes 1-1&1/2 hrs .. whereas 7.0 was
done in 15-20 mints.. i dont' know the reasons..
Also, I could instal

PjWhy do you think that Linux Mandrake 7.1 is a
pre-release version? Linux Mandrake 7.1 was released back on
June 6th.

Gentlemen, the real problem, in my humble opinion, with LM7.1 is the newly
acquired functionality to set up UDMA right out of the box. I undestand the
nature of the problem. It would seem that the sloppy coding done by hard drive
makers has finally become our bane. While

Why do you think software is tested before it is released for sale?
Don't complain if you don't know the difference between a stable version
and a distro still in testing. And, please don't call Mdk buggy because you
don't know how to install a pre-release version. I don't know how to
install it
Sarang,
What kind of problems are you having? I have found 7.1 to be a nice
experience so far. The applications and the installation are much more
cohesive and organized than any previous version. Infact, out of the box, 7.1
required less time and customization than any dist. I have used. I am
this is really rediculous.. I hate mandrake for 7.1.. I had fallen in love
with Mandrake with their 7.0 release.. and 7.1 is really crappy when it
comes to installation.. there are things that don't work and machines that
run perfectly with 7.0 but don't install/run 7.1.. and there is that crappy

I am trying to install 7.1 on a second machine.
I get at the Setup Filesystems step
Error Unable to find a valid device to use to create a file system. Check
your hardware ...
The only problem is that I have a file system. it was created with PM and
has nothing on it and PM says no errors on the
