Okay, what am I doing wrong? I stripped the chords out of my file and
copied everything else into a new one. I changed the chord font size, but
when I need to create a new chord, I have to fiddle with the sizes. I just
want to change all my chord symbols to a larger size.

I was thinking of 2 ways of achieving it in Finale :
1- Simply add a new tool in the smart shape toolbar
2- Add an option to the existing dashed slur to make it tapered of not
The first solution would be more flexible since for whatever reason both tapered and non-tapered dashed slurs could be
Dear all,
I don´t know if this has worked before (and if it did I am a perfect
donkey!) but now the internal softsynth in Finale 2004 allows you to play 64
different channels with 64 different internal sounds.
I can´t recall if that was possible in Mac OS 9, but since it is a fantastic

Noel reported that it has been supposedly fixed in the more recent

didn't work well for me before, BUT one of the workarounds that
somebody reported was that after you defined the shape and set the

The point of this thread, though, is to request *tapered* dotted
slurs; i.e.
We were talking about tapered dashed slurs, which are not supported in both Windows and Mac versions of Finale. Dashed slurs in Finale do not have the shape of a normal slur, it is only a dashed LINE.

I saw this with the FINALE troup that goes around to conventions. It's a
super small MIDI keyboard that is about half the width of a standard
105-key computer keyboard. It's black around what look like an octave-plus

I do a lot of traveling, and this looks to be a

Giz,
Make a small bar with a clef (after the bar line, and make sure it is at
100%) before the bar with the key signature, then make the bar line before

If it doesn't, you can always use the keyboard map to learn what the key
command is to force correct quotation marks, apostrophes, dashes, etc. 2k4
for Mac doesn't (to my knowledge), but I memorised the character
combinations years ago.

Here's a copy of my original post - the measure I'm working with is the
second measure in the staff, after an invisible measure which has been

It certainly _is_ a good idea to backup your internal hard drive and
keep a copy off-site. I back up (using Dantz's Retrospect Desktop) to
two different sets of DVD-RAM disks (2.6 GB per side) and keep one
set in a safe deposit box (which costs maybe $25 per year). I also

Don't bother, it's more hassle than it's worth.
