For what it’s worth, I installed Xcode.app a while back in response to a
software package’s requirement. Yesterday, I followed Fink’s installation
instructions to install XCode command-line tools. That’s how I ended up with

I installed fink 0.9.0 on my wife's Powerbook this morning, but never
even got to compile anything:
1) It can't selfupdate, as the curl to
enough, however.
2) Edit /sw/fink/10.4/stable/main/finkinfo/10.4-EOL/gnuplot.info and add
perl -pi -e 's/sub(subsection aed767)/\1/' docs/%{ni}.texi
to the PatchScript block.
