I have not fired up the radio in a couple of weeks. I just upgraded all the
"TEST" files and started SDR 5000. I seem to have lost EVERYTHING! Even the
vCAT and VAC settings are gone. All the memories are gone. The vCAT and VAC
software settings are messed up. The driver settings are messed up.

I just set this up today. What a difference in CPU usage! With my poor
old 2.6GHz P4 with 1 GB of RAM, I couldn't run the NR on both RX1 and
RX2 without running up to 100% utilization and a next -to - impossible
to use rig. Of course I had all kinds of other stuff running at the

First off, let me reiterate that the TEST SVN is just that. It is a
development TEST environment and as such, the code there is beta at bet but
mostly alpha. One should NEVER use it for production operation of the radio.
Use this SVN branch only for testing and you should always read the SVN

I was wondering if anyone is using something that is best described as an
"inverse mixer" for routing one microphone (source) to multiple destinations
(radios) as opposed to multiple mics to a stereo output. I don't need any
active electronics in the mix, just a well shielded generic microphon
I use the Wavenode WN2 power monitor. The software that comes with to monitor
your power on your PC (produce curves, monitor scope, etc), has an amp pulser
built in. I believe it is a free download from their site and will work with or
without the WN2 attached.

Yep, it is a problem. Both Eric and Bob are aware of it. There is a component
of PowerSDR that is still 32-bit and is not playing well with Win7 x64. The
XML database helped us peal one layer of the onion away to expose another one.

Windows XP ... it is indeed recognized by the laptop computer when inserted ...

in your device manager under soundcards and see if it lists the 3000.

Check out the NCS 3240 - it will route multiple mic's to multiple radios as
well as route audio from the radio to multiple devices (speakers, computer,

I don't have my 3000 yet so I do not know if there is a separate

If you do have the driver in as safe mode 1, try safe mode 2. Delete
the powersdr.mdb file before you kick up powerSDR
It was in safe mode 1; switched to safe mode 2, deleted .mdb file, and same
result.

screen comes up, the radio_type dropdown only has blank and Flex-5000, no

I tried running the Flex-3000 firmware executeable ... it finishes quickly and
says that if this screen shows up too quickly, there is probably a problem with
the driver, or communicattions to the hardware ... guess that's not too
surprising at this point.

the code from the test branch is now working fine with the FLEX-3000.
I'd suggest that you try code from this branch (keeping in mind this IS
the test branch, so expect to see some bugs - and other undocument

I don't think that the driver got fully installed. On XP you should get 3
"Found New HW" Wizards.. Best way to get it reinstalled is the go to Windows
Device Manager, uninstall the FireWire controller under the 1394 IEEE line.
Then reboot and make sure the radio is off. Once rebooted
I am now 99.9% sure the problem is the Firewire card. Although some of the
1394b (Firewire 800) cards are supposed to be compatible with 1394a devices
(like the FLEX-3000), the three PCI based I have tried with XP were not. I
received similar behavior with one of the cards (it had a TI chipset
i reinstalled the expresscard firewire driver a few minutes ago ... got all
three detection screens ... went nicely. still having problem, though.
