Wouldn't it be great if, now that F5K has been discontinued, the
hardware/interfacing spec could be made public, so that it can be hacked to
work with cuSDR (https://plus.google.com/107168125384405552048/posts)? I
guess, then we'd be able to use the F5K like an F6K.

I just purchased an Ameritron ALS-600 solid state amp to eventually use with
my Flex-5000A. I've been researching interfacing it with the Flex for
automatic band switching. All that I've come across on the internet talks
about using DDutil and a PARALLEL port (with a custom PARALLEL port
Hi all:
I've been extremely busy working on business projects, so I haven't had time
to continue my work on transforming the ShuttlePRO v2 into an awesome
controller for a FlexRadio device.
My software (called ShuttleKraft) basically makes the ShuttlePRO v2 into a
dedicated controller for
Tony:
Dual VFO control is possible with my software, because the ShuttlePRO V2 has
two separate knobs in the Jog/Shuttle. So you could use the inner knob for
one VFO and the outer knob for the other VFO.
You can assign each element of the ShuttlePRO V2 to an individual CAT-based
command.
I wanted to update all interested in this software development on its
progress...
All the behind the scenes coding is complete:
*The software communicates accurately with PowerSDR through the CAT port
(you'll need a virtual COM pair and/or DDutil set up to use)
*Toggle-style CAT Commands work
When I purchased my F5K this year, I also invested in a Contour ShuttlePROv2
to use to control it via PowerSDR. However, I became disappointed in being
limited to using the small set of keyboard equivalents that are part of
the current version of PowerSDR (as the software that comes with the
One thing I forgot to mention: The software I'm developing allows similar
functionality via ShuttlePRO to that provided by T-Mate.

This just started happening today on my new 5KA. Reset the DB several times
to try and fix, but it's still happening. I go to auto-tune. Tune stays
on indefinitely. A variety of messages will show in the ATU Settings Form.
None look good...
Examples: Tune completely SuccessfullySWR
Yes, resetting and completely rebooting may have helped. Maybe the driver
got corrupted?

The suggested 5KA hardware reset along with the earlier database reset and
reboot seems to have solved this problem.
Also of note is that just preceding this situation, no audio was coming from
the radio -- not from the headphone jack, nor the rear speaker jack (Yes, I

I'm new to flex, sdr and this list.
I have a brand new 5000A, fully loaded (including the VHF/UHF board).
Station is completely new -- new QTH, new Mic (PR 781), new temporary
antenna (Miracle MMD 30m).
I've worked through issues on installation and receive and seem to have
those licked
Both the monitor and a second rx (wide receive HT).

You may want to try lifting the chassis ground off the XLR

Once fwd power reads 1W, the distortion happens.

question!
does your rfi or distortion occur at all power levels?
rfi is a sneaky beast, but it does require a power source, try dropping
your power in10
