SpeedStep or Cool-n-Quiet technologies are not conducive to real-time
audio processing applications. Obviously PowerSDR will still work, but
the results can be unpredictable.

It is the WBIR acting on the 0 IF noise from the DAC/ADC at the 9 KHz

Here is a way to check.
Reconfigure CWS to use real audio rather than I/Q (3 KHz radio).
Reconfigure PowerSDR VAC no to use Direct IQ and set the RX passband
filter to 3 KHz
Let me know the results.

This is a VERY dangerous configuration. Be very careful. Especially if
you have the TX side set up this way as feeding raw I/Q into the radio
bypasses the filtering and ALC and can easily blow your transmitter.

You are probably OK. You experienced an abnormal shut down that put the
radio into a funky state. The full power cycle cleared it up.

I ran CW Skimmer for two days solid at Huntsville with the latest
version of PowerSDR and it decoded fine; weak and strong signals.
I recommend doing a reset to factory defaults and manually configuring
VAC for CWSkimmer and check again.

Stig,
Yes the audio response is flat. What mode are you most concerned about
where you need a flat response? Digital modes? If so the DIGx modes do
not add any EQ pre-emphasis, leveling or companding on the transmitted
or received signal.

This is a friendly reminder to all that unless you provide this info on

Sounds like you have done everything possible and the correct way given
the infrastructure you have to work with. I assume that if you connect
a dummy load to the radio there is no RFI issues in 17m. A tough
gremlin indeed to slay.

mileage may vary.
I use the exact same VAC configuration for every digital mode program
that utilizes real audio streams (99.% of them). I have to change
it to use complex audio (I/Q) when using CWSkimmer.
