I did this on my wife's MDD G4. There was a control strip module causing Classic to crash. I was shocked when I booted off the OS 9 CD and could not see the internal hard drive. No need to panic. It's just because the OS 9 drivers were not installed during the factory format... --- Mikael Byström

You can install OS 9 only if you wish. In my current setup I have an OS 9 partition that has the regular OS 9 install on it. When booting in OS X, I have classic pref set to run classic from the Syetem folder of the OS 9 partition. The OS 9 partitition is effectively independent of OS X. cheers,
