You can install OS 9 only if you wish. In my current setup I have an OS 9 partition that has the regular OS 9 install on it. When booting in OS X, I have classic pref set to run classic from the Syetem folder of the OS 9 partition. The OS 9 partitition is effectively independent of OS X. cheers,

Ok, I just installed a new top assembly, and ended up ripping apart the whole laptop to do it :(. I got it back together and everything works, except the laptop does not go to sleep when the lid is closed. Does anybody know what connector/cable/part is responsible for this job? Geoff -- G-Book

Hi! I have a G4 Titanium 550MHz with two 256MB DIMMs. It gets very hot around the top right hand corner, so much so that I have a small 12V fan blowing on it to stop it from getting VERY hot as it has actually crashed in the past (without the fan). This is more of a problem with the power supply
