Hostname -s is blank, just plain hostname yeilds the fully qualified HN, but
-s is blank?

OK I successfully thrashed /etc on my laptop. O can boot up on livecd and most
everything else seems to be there, except the /etc/stuff. I did get it to
emerge sync, but now complains about /usr/portage/profiles having bad lines,
they are there but I assume the problem is that I placed some file
load the firmware on my ipw2200. I don't see a good fix for this either in
bug:

I tried to run -u world this morning on a machine that is usually update
every 2-3 weeks or so. In the upgrade of kde it says that kdelibs-3.1.4 is
blocked because of qt-3.2.3?
I have kde 3.1.2 currently running. I thought qt and kde lived together, qt is
needed for kde?

I saw something back in 2002 about compiling with -frolup ?? in your
make.conf. But there is nothing about a solution that BI can find. I'm not
sure if that still applies?

I have followedc the instructions for pcmcia at least 10 times now and are
still unable to get pcmcia working. it there any other reading material on

I keep getting an error when trying to emerge the win4lin kernel. It complains
of mki-adapter.patch digests do not match?
Anyone else have this problem? Has Netraverse updated the patch and we haven't
refreshed the e-build?
