Dear colleagues,
If you have agenda items to contribute to the AJL RAS catalog committee
meeting, could you please email them to Jasmin and me? Jasmin has kindly
offered to help organize/facilitate this meeting as I've been on special
assignment at Yale for the past few months.

Dear colleagues,
Any thoughts on nominations from within the AJL community? Or is one
of us already involved at some level?
Thanks.

Good point, Joan.
Good point, Joan.
I think part of what is motivating this proposal is that in certain
cases the date of publication is so useful and recognizable that it
almost functions like an extension of the title. Leah's example was
the Amsterdam Haggadah of 1695, where the year carries information
usef
be
helpful to add the date and so for that reason, this rule should be optional.

Lenore,
I'm convinced now too. Thanks for reinforcing Caroline's point.
Also, as suggested by Caroline, I've added some language about AJL and
Non-Roman script-specific concerns (see revised draft below). I tried
including a specific example, but found it was too hard to represent
no
materials. Using keyword
searching to access series data in these materials will be either severely
limited or impossible.
