I think everyone gets those CAsyncIOManager errors which appear to be as
harmless ass that S_API_FAIL, continuing with current anyway thing on
server consoles. I guess it was just a borked hlds client update for
servers that introduced something new which they did not tell us.

It's something due to plugins you have. Seen this before on servers
where i've played. They force some crap default settings on the servers.
This has never happened to vanilla servers which have no plugins.

Just so you know, i gave that Echo fellow the remaining cheat / exploit
commands few days ago and got a reply that they will be posted to their
internal list and looked into. This won't fix the upload/download
command that D-FENS blocks but it's something.

I'm seeing changes, not much but for the better. I used to get double
loads with some newer kernels (especially with the new scheduler) so
perhaps Valve's glibc change triggered the issues. What glibc and kernel

If quit restarts the server, then the srcds process actually crashes
during it which causes it to restart. You must have some plugins running
on the servers. Why the servers go stuck when rebooted, i do not know.

Our L4D and L4D2 servers have always given out those blablabla was never
closed messages. They are harmless errors really just like the
S_API:_FAIL steam client not found once you start the L4D/L4D2 server.

kill the server, leave screen on and start another screen session and
run the CSS server with same ip and port on new screen. For some reason,

Sometimes content servers go out of order so to speak and the updatetool
just tries and tries. You did deleted the ClientRegistry.blob from
/home/user/.steam folder? You sure you got all the necessary ports
in/out open and not firewalled shut?
