Ficon CTC's between LPAR's in same Box

Is there a way I can configure CTC's between LPAR's in same physical box without going out and buying hardware? I saw somewhere that one could use share CHPID's with other devices using TYPE=FC. Does this only work if going out to Ficon switch ? I do have a Ficon express 8 card with 1 unused

Incremental Flashcopy backups.

Am I missing something ! Under z/OS I can do incremental copies of packs on our DS6800. I can't seem to find the same function under z/VM. Can someone confirm my worst fears that it can't be done under z/VM or make me very happy by showing me where I have gone wrong. Crispin Hugo Systems

Our experience with VM and Z/os is that they may not survive. It appears to me to that it drops the second connection too soon after the first one is put back online. We always close system down. With our system it takes about 2 hours to do all three software updates Crispin Hugo Systems
