To tell you the truth, I don’t think that redundancy in Hipersockets is
necessary. (I’ve never had any problems with mine and since it’s all internal
to the zSeries hardware, I doubt that there will ever be a problem.)

You could check 191 disk readability. Define a TDISK of the same size
DDR 191 to it...see if a problem occurs.
At a CMS level (format the TDISK for CMS) then copy all of the files
from the 191 to this TDISK to see if CMS can read them.

No love! From the support center:
Chapter 11 of the I/O Config. manual shows under 'Important Notice' that
HLASM is required. There are no alternatives at this time.
Thanks and Best Regards,

No, mainly because MAINT has many R/W minidisks that can't be shared.
You can use any user for the formatting. What do you intend for the
"setup"?

I want to convert my IOCP to HCM/HCD, but one of the requirements is
HLASM, which I do not have and will not be able to convince management
to purchase for a one time conversion.
Options?

Hmmmwhen I downloaded it to Linux, it downloaded it a TCVMn.ZIP.Z.
I was able to "unzip" them just fine.
Not sure why it's downloading it as a tgz (TARball GZIPped).
When I try from windows, I get:

I just did (on a Linux server though) and had no problems. Are you
sure you issued a BINARY before the download?
