I didn't know I needed to do a restore disk too.
I did some disk back upon first getting my laptop with the help of Mr.
Justice, so those disks then would restore it back to what it was then, but
not now, is this right?
Always a learning experience, and also didn't know
even if there might be an easier way..
Thank you for your explaination here even if I don't understand it all.

My impression from your first message is that you created a system backup
image using the default option built in to windows 7. That is accessible to
do quite easily. You should have received a prompt at the end of that
procedure

Hi Lenny,
Years ago, when you purchased a computer, it would come with multiple disks
which contained the operating system disk,
drivers and installed software.
Later, manufacturers chose to image the operating system drive

I made my first backup today using an external drive and that auto run

Well, how much is really on your computer, look at the properties for
each drive and it will tell you. Frankly, I can't imagine backing up a
modern computer to cd, it would take at least ten. With Dvd's maybe,
you could get by with three or four. It will take time.
On 11/23/2012 15:07,
I admit to not having read the whole topic before responding. But Carbonite.com
is another good solution that's accessible. Hope that helps.
