Hi,
Can you, please, point me the site where I can get the Linux Progress
Patch from Anurag Phadke. I am interested too in the graphical boot
process, may be if we try at the same time, we can help to ourselves
more.
Thanks in advance,

Hello all,
I test my ltsp terminal in a p166 48M old merchine. and I found it running
perfect. then I decide to make it in production environment.
But I encounter trouble on those really old merchines.

The hwbrowser shows that the workstation used an onboard video card, a
"Cirrus Logic GD544x". I noticed that the the patched LTSp is looking for a
VESA VGA card. I'm forcing the rpm package of XF86_SVGA for the workstation.
To Jim, thanks for the help. I really appreciate it.
Guys, anyone know

Peter,
I've be interested in seeing that script, and if you've got
the time to write up a paragraph or two about it, i'd be
happy to post it up on the LTSP.org contrib page. I'm
sure there are lots of people who would find great value
in this.

Syai,
yes, it turns out that not all video chipsets are able to
use the LPP. The message you got is indicating that it
can't switch into the video mode needed by the LPP.
BTW, What video chipset are you using in that workstation ?

Has someone an idee
Yes indeed, you could use rsh or ssh, and you could even throw in a
little NIS to make authentication/managing user accounts a bit easier
for a large number of users.
However, these things are sort of out of the scope of technical issues
with ltsp I think. The ltsp documentation does describe
Hai guys...
I've just tried patching up LTSP with the patch that Anurag Phadke made, but
my LTSP didn't appear any fancier. Just a line saying that there isnt a
defined mode number, and I can opt to pick either 9 given mode number option
or just wait 30 seconds for it to configure it itself.

Hi
You should take a breath, step back, then RFM and make a working system
(It works if you follow instructions) then try to change it to suit
your needs, one step at a time.
