Thank you very much for all the replies.
I've tried setting up KDE to use ESD, but it made the control panel to hang.
I'm guessing that means that ESD package is not installed in my system yet ?

Simon,
I think the problem is the ltsp-sound.sh script (usually in
/etc/profile.d) is running ltspinfo, to connect to the ltspinfod daemon
that is normally running on the ltsp thin clients. The problem is, you
don't have a ltspinfod running on your Exceed terminals.

There used to be an ltsp-sound tarball for ltsp 3 on the download page.
I cannot find it anymore. Anyone know what happened to it and where I

Hello all,
I just setup a LTSP server running gentoo and a thin client.
It "all works perfectly" except the sound which i simply CANT make it
work!
I booted my ltsp client on runlevel 3 and nasd or esd simply *dont
start*.
nasd complains about something while opening /dev/dsp (which doesnt
work)
I installed the ltsp_sound package and it is working fine.
However, there is 2-second delay in the audio. This is a problem when
looking at a realplayer file on the LTSP terminal, or (even worse)
playing a game.
What can I do to fix this?

Just a question or few:
1) which X Environment are you running?
2) Did you use the ltsp_kmods + ltsp_sound package? If I were to use these,
would I be able to hear sound in Gnome? I thought I read the it only works
in KDE?
