My trusted mechnic told me to take it to a body shop as there is no way to access the lower bolts without R/R of the fender. If the fender is original, it has been glued into place, so this is NOT a job for the unprepared or hubristic. I am basically a coward so will not arrempt to do this on my

I looked at mine again this morning. The spring mount tab on the body is gone, anyone have suggestions? Think a new hook/tab could be welded in there? IIRC the a pillar down channel is where its mounting on, meaning I would have to drill through the square to mount a u hook or somethign.

The spring is fine - it's the hinge that is bent where the release lever is located. When opening the hood you need to manually press the hinge toward the center of the engine to keep the hinge from catching on the hood on its upward travel. Well bend it back then! -- Jim
