Hi everybody,
I am having a hard time finding any info on this subject, so I was
hoping maybe one of you could give me some pointers.

I upgraded to Connector/J 3.09 from 2.0.14. After some hours, the driver
looses it's connection and will not reconnect (despite setting
reconnect=true). The error starts as follows below. I rollback to 2.0.14
and everything is stable again. This is using mysql 4.0.16-standard. Is

I am new to MySQL connector J. I do not know how to install it. I just
downloaded the .zip file and I am using XP Home. I want to use it with
tomcat which is already running OK. I need someone to help me how to
install it and connect to MySQL which is also installed and working fine.

MySQL Connector/J 3.0.9, a new version of the Type-IV all-Java JDBC
driver for MySQL has been released.
It is now available in source and binary form from the Connector/J

Quick and simple question. Does the windows version of
Connector/J
run under Windows NT, the documentation implies only
I'm not sure about NT, but it works under 2000 (for me)

_Theoretically_ that should work, however, the Tomcat folks don't
recommend deploying differen
different sites which use .jsp pages and bean.
If we move the org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver drivers into the local lib directories
WEB-INF/lib/..
and compile the beans with the driver.

I've been experiencing some problems regarding connection mysql/java. I'm
using a connector 3.0.8, and linux debian. I have also copied the connector
to JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/ext directory.
