well,
when I was on US West, the cisco 675 was a bridge, not a router, so it has no IP
of it's own. you need to set the computer to DHCP. I dunno how to do
that in Linux except at install, but I'm 99% sure if you are assigning a IP to a
us west dsl bridge it's wrong. How is your win box s

Thanks for the hint. I don't have a turbo switch but by setting the
PIO mode for the IDE channels in the BIOS setup screen I was able to
boot. Now I am experimenting on how high I can set the PIO mode. So
far I am up to PIO mode 3 no DMA for the hard drives PIO 0 no DMA for
the CD-ROM.

Still no luck. I am using the login script that you suggested with one

Well, if the Cisco is anything like my Netgear router (ISDN) you'll need to

address. My Ethernet is 192.168.0.x, where x is greater than 1, but l

Easy - the TCP/IP stack of Windoze sucks as much as the rest of the OS. ;)
And Windoze do
except generally a dos prompt won't work, you have to reboot into dos mode.
It's a memory addressing problem as far as I can tell. As a result, you can't
do this from NT :-(

do you mean all I need to do is change the eth0 interface to a DHCP protocol ?
Or is there more to setting up DHCP than that. The information I have listed
below regarding the Cisco is right out of the USWest book and does get the
Router logged in.
I just

You've

Hi all,
i've a problem with my provider.
He has installed a M$-like callback protocol.
I'm not allowed to use it, but since it was installed,

It seems that kppp receives a "^F" signal before authentication
and stops connection.
Any suggestion?

When something crashes or exits abnormally it may "core dump"...
I'm no expert but I think this is the programms way
in the dir where your perl script is:
"./perlscript.pl"
but make sure that the first line of the script ie the path to the perl
executible is correct do a "which perl" to checkI noticed that I had
to change this when I used perl scipts form my solaris system on my linux
system.
