No, it's not a 3com card and it is definately plugged in. It may help
to mention that this is a VM running under VMWare workstation. I have
compiled and installed the VMWare drivers. Now that I think about it,
could it be because the VMWare drivers don't load until after the NIC
would initialize

keith, i've looked at the specs for both products, the nic is bog-standard,
references to setting up the 'bios' make no sense to me, it is a pci card
that should need no pre configuring of irq etc. however if you are dual
booting win, then there is no harm in running whatever prog come with it,

The fonts import hangs on initial step : Reselect correct fonts.

I performed it first in my desktop pc. The process went smooth, until the

Thanks everyone for helping me out. I did finally figure it out and now have
it fixed. The problem was an interaction between a disk caching module,
proxy module and compression that is supported from within Mozilla browsers.
I have disabled all Apache level caching and the problem is gone.
