I have a laptop with Mandrake 9.0. Everything works fine except when
pressing the Fn key (which I need to redirect the video to an external
monitor/projector).The system Freezes (the keys ctrl+alt+f1 don't work so I
have to turn the laptop off and on again).
Before 9.0 I had 8.2 and the (fn+F7
whithout
being connected? I'm afraid to plug in the cable, because I don't know which
service may knock my connection down.
- Does Mandrake Firewall block outgoing ports, or just incoming
connections? if the latest is true how can I block outgoing ports??

I click ok, then Netscape starts and work.

I fixed the problem:
New installation, with X-Free 3.3.6 and I did not install the KDE (I am
using Gnome).
Now I do not know if the problem is due to X-Free 4.0.3 or KDE.

Check the subnetmask value (normally is 255.255.255.0). It should be the

Sane is automatically installed and the readme file instructions is to
install sane with the commend ./configure.

I installed Mandrake 7.0 (air version) without problems - automatic
installation.
I have a network card SiS900 PCI (in box it have also the name 4Lan).
With Lotar 0.5.3, in "Network Device
will accomplish this purpose". I tried write
./configure + enter, but I received an error message No file or directory.
So, if you can help me with detailed and concrete instructions of how to
finish my installation of SANE package I would appreciate very much ;)
