Here we go again.
I tried to get acpi to work, as a battery manager.
I set it to load at startup. I restarted the computer to see if it would work. I
chose Linux in LILO, and behold, a complete blank screen. No command line, no
errors, no anything. Just a blank screen. So I powered off, and

Justin,
Are you able to type in the blank screen? What type of login are you set on;

Hey Everyone,
Just finished d/ling the source for Mdk 9.2.
Install went ok, and when I boot up the system, it loads everything ok, and
then when I get to the login screen, it goes blank.
Not sure why this is happening, I got no errors during the install/boot
up...
Anyone have the same problem?

Turn Off the monitor for 5 sec and then back On
It's the damn energy saving mode that some monitors use.
After a period of inactivity they don't want to come out of it.

I am running Mandrake 9.1. I left my machine on with Mandrake doing nothing.
I came back after about 30 minutes to find that the screen was totally
blank. Moving the mouse had no effect.
Not getting any response at all, and not knowing what to do, I pressed the

I tried hitting the escape key when the lilo screen came up, and entering
linux mem=247M but that did not work. Are you talking about the blue screen
that comes up while Mandrake is loading?

Hello all,
This is my first attempt of installing Mandrake. I used to use RH (since

one I had with RH 7.2
I have installed Mandrake 8.1 with no problems what so ever. Very nice GUI
also!
System it is installed on:

When I return from lunch - instead of the screesaver I selected to run under
xlock, I have a blank screen. I have tried "xset -s off" from a command line
and added thad command to /etc/rc.d/rc.local (as suggested by a RedHat user).
I am running Mandrake 7.2 and Windowmaker 0.62.

Hi
I have just installed my first linux install.
Most things are OK for now except if I use the 'logout' option from KDE/Xwindows
I get a blank screen (black) and no login/shut down options.
Only way out is a power down (not good).
Any idea's how I debug this or what the problem might be ?
