I have zero problems with XFS. My understanding is that XFS and ReiserFS are both faster than Ext3. ReiserFS always used to have an issue that your '/' partition could not be ReiserFS, not sure if that is fixed now. There is no issue with '/' with XFS, but the installer warns you it is not

Well finally have my Mandrake 8.1 back up and running with the Reiser FS file system installed. Seems to run fast enough for me.(no noticable difference from ext2). Thanks for all the input..I feel better knowing that this is a more stable fs to use. Learned a little doing the expert
