Somehow I borked my fstab settings with supermount, could someone
take a look at this for me ?

Da li clicca su Removeable Media ed in opzioni.
Dovresti trovare cosa fa per te..

I think that this question was asked before, but I never saw much of an
answer. After updating from 8.0 to 8.1 my system no longer mounts CDs
automatically. It will not even read aduio CDs when I try to mount them with
iso9660. In fstab it is using supermount for the drive and I am not sure

Supermount is broken in 8.1. It will work again in 8.2
Do not use it,
Disable it with
supermount -i disable
Mount data CD's manually either by command line, by clicking on the CD icon,
or by running kwikdisk
between them. They get
confused in upgrades to 8.1.

One of the Pc's here, (the old ladies) doesn't have a floppy drive (its a
network PC, Compaq 4000N)
So I thought, no problem, I'd setup a network drive linked to the linux
box's floppy (using Samba).. so she can just stick a floppy in that and save

Hmm, I didn't mention my cd-roms. But, I do have a problem with the one
that's a burner; if I try to access it my machine locks up. Hard. The
only way to break out of it is a cold boot (power switch). Civileme

Hi all,
If you have a problem with the supermount option:
perhaps you can check what mount says about your mounted devices after
boot-up.
Just do a "mount" on a prompt and see what that gives. Part of my 'mount'
output:
/dev/hda3 on /boot type ext2 (rw)
/dev/hda12 on /usr type ext2 (rw)

It will change your fstab from "normal" to "supermounting". "disable" does
the oposite.
