I re-ran DCpromo and then DNS worked well. Prefer the Swing migration.
I have a further query if you don't mind. I now have two domain controllers,

Hi all
I thought of posting this here just in case someone has encountered this

RealTek NICs. These are RTL 8168DP/8111DP Family PCI-E GBE type. We've
been having intermittent issues with some of them. Sometimes they
Hello all!
I am encountering a problem when trying to connect to a remote server
using the Windows XP Pro (SP2) Remote Desktop. The domain user keeps
getting the following error:
The remote connection has timed out. Please try connecting to the remote
computer again.
Now when I log on using
Hi Richard
I've checked the GPO settings and there is nothing configured for Terminal
Services so no settings should be applied. The remote server belongs to a third
party. It's a demo server which we need to connect to via Remote Desktop in
order to view a demo of a software application.
But my account allows me to connect because I have admin rights. It is when
normal users try to connect that they are getting the error message hence my
suspicions falling on some GPO settings.

This server does not belong to us. We were given temporary access to it in
order to view a demo on it via Remote Desktop. The problem cropped up when one
of our users tried to access it via Remote Desktop. However when I tried
accessing it using my normal account because I am a system admin, I
Hi all!
I would like to prevent one of my users from changing his assigned Windows

No. The user is restricted from logging onto other workstations. What I would
like to do is prevent the user from changing his login name. In other words I
do not wish him to use another login name.

They are using someone else's login name. That is why I wish to prevent the
user from changing his/her login name. I would like that he/she would only be
able to enter the password. Possible?

My concerns are related to issues such as hacking attempts during the WebEx
session. They say that the connection is encrypted using 128 Bit SSL and AES.
