I just cut the line and spliced with rubber gas line hose with hose clamps on
each end. Then just went and got a "clear" plastic gas filter from the FLAPS.
I can get a number off of it tomorrow but it's just a medium size clear filter.

On the fuel filter, I've run an inline filter for the past several years
mounted on the frame just a few inches from the tank cutoff valve. Easy to
change out when needed.

old body trick is to drill a VERY small hole

If your hood fits well now make sure you carefully mark the mounting bolt
locations. It'll save you some headaches in trying to get the thing adjusted.

ut. I have removed
passenger side front fender, inner fender, radiator and support frame and all
the other stuff that hangs on the engine. The hood will come off this weekend
when my son can help---then the fun starts.
Thanks a bunch for your offer and advice.

Rick, Ken and Bill, Thanks for your input. Your advice is exactly what I wanted
to hear. I think I misunderstood my friend when he said to pull the whole thing
as a unit.
Got another question for you all. CYLINDER RE-BORING.
Cyl. #4 is in bad shape. Looks like maybe a broken ring pretty well
Well, I pulled my 235 (twice - long story) with 3 speed tranny attached. Of
course, I had removed the hood. The clearance was adequate but we had to do a
little "fishing" of the units as they were being raised and lowered to keep

Hi Luke,
I had the same issue with my 52 1/2 T with 4sp. There wasn't enough left of
that bolt to pick your teeth with. Amazingly enough the shaft threads weren't
damaged. The book calls for 60-65 ft. lbs for the 4sp, and 15-20 for the 3sp.
Good luck.
