Yeah, but jpg doesn't record pixels like that. What you suggest could work with a bitmap, but a jpg is different. Don't ask me the techie details, but I think of it as recording a start position, colour value, then the number of adjacent pixels of that colour. So building up a picture means it i

not necessary. it is necessay to enable color management by having a chosen working space in Photoshop and converting everything that is tagged with a known color space to that one on input. if a file isn't tagged with a color space and it's from a digital camera, you can assume that it is sRGB. sR
