Well, as I and other people practised in the Simplefiled Chinese
Translation(phpdoc-zh molude), we MUST add a -dir when we checkout like:
cvs checkout phpdoc-zh-dir
if we run:
cvs checkout phpdoc-zh
This will do create a phpdoc-zh dir under /phpdoc/, but the file it
downloads into the phpdoc-zh

Well, I think I didn't manage to express well. I meant whether a error in
the zh file or an out of date zh file would cause the system report errors
related with some en files, and of course these are all in the zh build. I'm
not talking about the en build.

I wondered whether the faults in zh tree would take affects on the en tree

whether the $Id tag can be recognized by the 'make revcheck' command. Will
it generate correct revcheck.html with the $Id tag?
In zh molude, we are using Revision Comments to Track the revision of the

Well, no file in the en tree is using $Author$ comments, but many
translation molude such as Italian and Japenese Translation as well as the
Chinese Molude is using the comment lines as following in every xml file:
!-- $Revision: 1.6 $ --
!-- $Author: gregory$ --

Yeah, the $Author$ here is the cvs username of the last modifier of the
file. In this way we can get to know who modified the file at last time. We
just inheret this behavior from the Italian and Japenese Molude, and correct
it to make it work.

I think you may updated that file for a wrong place. Why not put your
translated file in the molude of your language? You are not supposed to
commit translated(non-English) file to the en dir...

instead of that you mentioned in the HOWTO, and I did succeeded in checking
out the phpdoc-zh molude in a zh sub-dir!
So, I doubt which command to put there, in the HOWTO, makes it more
reasonable...

According to the PHP Documentation HOWTO, I should create a sub-dir named 'zh' at the
