As a relative newbie with Spotify (but not with Squeezebox) I finally
found this thread in my search to get get some reasonably Spotify
functionality on my SB, and It DID solve the problem. For the first time
ever I can run Spotify searches from my SB Duet controller and the SB
app on my iPhone.
I just pushed out 1.0.2. Don't get too excited: this is only adding some
more debug logging which hopefully will help us to better understand
what is causing some of the failures.
And it removes the mis-leading self-test. Please give it a try. When in

a tick box that stopped the official app
I tried using the search for Spotify (Triodes) and I get a "general
transient error". I cannot search or save to albums. I've been out of
the Spotify loop for a while. Has there been some changes with this

How the Spotify is supposed to show in LMS web page?
I cleared now all the settings and cache and installed the SPH 1.0.1 and
Official Spotify plugin. Deleted the account from mysb.com and created
it again and joined Spotify and mysb together but still this is all what
I see in LMS web ui.

EDIT: to add, if I disable the new protocol handler plugin, restart LMS,
enable Triode's plugin, restart LMS, spotify works fine (using the
orange Spotify icon in LMS). Search doesn't work of course, but music
plays. But I can't get music to play with Triode's disabled and the

I see the helper uses port 9005, do I need to port-forward that from my
router?
No (assuming both your server as well as player are in the same
network). But if you have a firewall on your LMS machine, then make sure
it allows traffic to the helper application.

Progress, of sorts. After a number of restarts and re-configurations of
username/password everywhere, I now have spotify showing up both in the

Currently I'm running 7.7.3, the latest synology package. If that's
sufficient, it should be no problem to replace files via sftp with root
