Despite Jobs' death bell for anything lower than 10.2, 8.6 is still a current system. Most software available today requires it as a minimum. I ran 8.0, then 8.5/6 on 48 MB for years. Even with a processor upgrade (now cheaper on eBay than they used to be), you take a significant speed and RAM
