Hello brain trust,
Anyone have experience with SOK lithiums? Here's my issue. Client has a
tiny home and bought their system online (I know, run away...). Whenever
they start a larger load (power tool, hair dryer) it pulls too much current
and causes the BMS to shut down the battery output.
You could try contacting the Wisconsin program called "solar for good".
They have a system for their timber framed car port.

It seems to me that the conductor should not be subject to the 120% rule
despite what the code says. The potential safety issue here is overloading
the neutral bus, right? While feeding currents could be additive in the
panel, they would be subtractive on the feeder, no? I seem to remember
Dick,
I assume that you are referring to Helios, USA out of Milwaukee, WI.
I put in about 12kW last year with no issues. They seem like a good
solid product. I try to use them whenever i can since they are an
in-state manufacturer for me.

This is an amazingly timely post for me! I was just thinking of asking the
same question since i have a couple of ground mount installs coming up with
concrete pillars/galvanized anchor bolts/aluminum channel base. I notice
that DPW for example specs galvanized pipes to be attached with u-bolts
I have used both recently. The IG Plus is nice for two reasons: the
integrated DC disconnect and the onboard string fusing/combining
capability. Their tech support has been easy to work with and have
reimbursed me for labor when needed with no questions asked.

would be quite safe IMHO as there would be no stressing of the
delivery system.

I have an installation that is a ground mount on a berm with a man-made pond
between the array and the BOS. The pond is about 4 feet deep. How would
you wrenches make this run? in weighted conduit with primer and glued
joints? use boring and go under? out of conduit with wire directly in the
Oh, and don't forget the make your own PV panels from hardware store parts
and never pay another electric bill guy!

Esteemed wrenches,
One of my students asked me today how you would (or if you could) connect a
120 volt outback inverter to a 277/480 volt 3 phase service. I said those
three little words that men find so hard to say, I don't know. Help,
please.

We will be seeing a lot more of this with the big box stores selling solar.
I have already set my rate at 150/hour with a blanket liability form in
anticipation of this kind of work. We can only hope that nobody kills
themselves in the process 'cause you know that it will be the solar energy
and
clocks always run fast, a few minutes
gained every other day due to high frequency issues (65+Hz) that plague the
Island. The local power authority keeps the diesel generators cranked.
Hope this help a little.

I have an off-grid client who tells me that his clocks lose about 1 minute
per hour while he is running his backup generator. Has anyone seen this
before? Do clocks use the zero crossing on a 60Hz wave for keeping time and
could a frequency discrepency in the generator cause this?
My thanks to
By this argument, wouldn't it be necessary to check every conductor in the
backfeed path adding potential PV amps to their required ampacity including
the utility conductor from the transformer?
