Why don't you install it using pIII and then put disk on the p4? Kernel might panic or something. Remember, Linux didn't work with Pentium 4's until recently. I don't think anything before RH 7.0 or 7.1 was P4 ready (due to the version of included kernel). -Statux

i used fips. it comes with the rh7 install cd. it's a dos utility that lets you resize partitions of any type. i don't know if there's a linux version available or if you're willing to pull the disc out and drop it in a windoze box temporarily, but it's a start. :)

Try to replace the line in your /etc/fstab for /dev/fd0 with these two lines: /dev/fd0/mnt/floppy ext2 noauto,user,exec0 0 /dev/fd0/mnt/dosfloppy msdos noauto,user,exec0 0 Do 'mount -a' (as root) to update the changes.
