It is possible that there were old .o files laying around from an
older compile, 'make mrproper' deletes everything, (e.g. .config
file, etc.) 'make clean' does not, it just removes the leftover
compile files and such. Glad it worked for you. :-)

Are there any issues using Grub with Redhat 7.x? I searched and
couldn't find any specific problems, but I noticed that Redhat doesn't

Okay it's a useless thing to know, but I have two linux machines (slack and
RH). The slackware machine displays a qotd upon login. I didn't install the
slackware machine and can't figure out how to get the qotd going on the RH

I hope this isn't a stupid question, but none-root users are unable to
change their passwords on a RH6.1 system. (sorry to change focus away from
7.0 for the moment).
When passwd is entered you get the old and new pass prompt. However, the
system complains that ANY new password entered is bas
