Does anyone know of a new or older 220 mobile that was (is) made with a
voice synth. in it? Kind of like the vs-3 chip that is in the Kenwood
stuff. Wan
o start it, and it is
only one-shot.
One possible route would be to use one of the ID'rs to start the DVR, but
that could quickly become a pain unless you triggered it from the initial

Hello and welcome to the wonderful spring 2004. Its snowing here!!
This past Saturday, our gang worked on our clubs repeater and discovered a
cracked N- Connector. I believe this connector was of good quality, but do
not know the brand name. Anybody here have any suggestions on how to prevent
this?
Save your money and do it right the first time. I ended up buying
two off brand used repeaters which I never did put into operation.
I finally bought a "real" repeater, a Motorola GR1225 in a GR500
locking cabinet with a large continuous duty fan and hefty power
supply. Forget those cheap mo
I have a VHF cellwave which has a faded label. I cant tell what model it is.
However the freq stamp was still clear at 154. MHZ. The antenna tip has a
fiberglass whip. Can I replace that whip to tune for 220 MHZ. If so what would
be the overall length of the antenna??

Hi Richard,
Are you using the option cable kit, or just trying
to tap into the radio somewhere?
I stock the option cable kits for the tk-840, 780
and 880 and can scan the pin out for it if
you want that information.

I use the blade type fuse holders and solder them in. I experience much less
voltage drop across them, resulting in more power out of the radio.

Heheh... Once in a while I tell them what I'm looking for just so I can see
that priceless blank look! Actually one of then knew what silicon heat sink
compound was - I couldn't find it, and it turned out that they were out, but
another store nearby had it.

Boy, that's a blast from the past! I used to spend many a pleasant hour
perusing their catalogs, looking for something, anything, to order that
would fit my limited budget.
