I found a solution and I thought I would post it in case anyone else is
trying something similar. I created a permission called CannotCallClassrooms
and enabled it by default. I then changed my rule to forward to voicemail
during the day to require that permission. Then for phones that need to be

I'm just guessing you placed the "classroom" lines in an extension range that
is unique (different) than other lines, like main office, nurse, etc.? I'm not
sure you can do what you want with a dialplan. I haven't given it much thought,
but if it were addressable via dial plan, then it would be

seems like I can get half of what I want working. The dial plan rule to
forward to voicemail does work. When I first tested sipxecs out I was using
3.10 and I thought I was able to get this functionality working.

We just finished migrating from an old 3Com nbx system to sipxecs. This is a
school district and on the old system it was configured so that dialing the
4 digit extension for a classroom during the school day would go straight to
