In my part of the world lime mortar joints in brickwork (Victorian/Edwardian

I know the Eyam dial very well and have a recent jpeg open alongside
this 'creation'. Clearly it is the same dial but the multi-arch bridge
and the cloudy sky etc. don't appear anywhere on the pure golden stone
of the original.

Something similar is to be seen in clocks which correct for solar time
via a 'kidney cam'. The Pilkington and Gibbs Heliochronometer uses a
version of it too.

Go for it Peter! I charge much more than that!
Presumable the metal versions are made from 'sintered' powder
. In the latter case you simply move the graph plot up or down
from the zero line by the amount of the LC. This is also easier when
the LC isn't a whole number of degrees.
I'll leave you to work it out which way you have to move the numerals in
this case.
