I’ve checked the mp3 player with all ubuntu versions since 8.04. Now I have connected (to 10.10) and it works correctly. Seems that there is a problem with firmweare of the device, unfortunately there isn’t new updates on entryx support page so I’ve installed different firmwere created by TEAC.

My enclosure seems to work stable with 2.6.21.5 For the time being I didn't try Ubuntu with this kernel, but all the distros seem to carry this bug. Then recent SLAX 6 works fine with the default max_sectors. It may have to do with the following change in kernel: * Add stable release 2.6.21.5:

Hey everybody, I had the same issues with a My Book 500gb. It would get disconnected and go to sleep after a while/transferring a lot of files. My theory of it going to sleep/disconnecting was because it was not getting written to fast enough so I set max_sectors to 1024 (would not go higher).
