I agree, when i used vista, I had 40+ system tray applets, and that took a
toll on my laptop. That's why I switched to ubuntu, to not have 3 rows of
system tray.

Is there a Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy CD with install CD but without LiveCD
available? Yesterday I started to install that on an old Toshiba Laptop
(PIII-600 MHz, 192MB RAM) and it took so long to get out of the liveCD mode
that I gave up and installed OpenSuSE 10.3 instead and it installed
single voice may not be effective to wake BSNL or Sify.

Troquei de monitor e esse tem uma resolução maior do que o anterior, porém
toda vez que entro no sistema tenho que mudar a resolução para 1680x1050
pois ele sempre inicia com 1208x1024.

Sou novo no Ubuntu e gostaria de saber como faço exatamente para conseguir
editar um arquivo (usplash, por exemplo) pois quando digito /etc/usplash.conf
aparece a mensagem permissão negada...como faço para editar isso? Preciso de

isso, antes de qq comando basta digitar sudo, no seu caso ficaria
sudo /etc/usplash.conf, mas usplash.conf é um programa ou um arquivo
de configuração? Se for um arquivo de configuração você tem que abrí-lo
com um programa editor
Também tenho este problema as vezes... Meu monitor está configurado com
a resolução 1280 x 1024 mas, de vez em quando, o computador inicia com a
resolução 1024 x 768... Alguém sabe o motivo?

cliente para DynDNS.

Consegue se conectar a celulares via bluetooth?
Vc tem os pacotes *gnome-bluetooth* e *gnome-vfs-obexftp* instalado?
O primeiro vc deve ter, mas verifique o segundo. Depois de instala-lo,
consegui me conectar ao meu celular via bluetooth.
