I thought I might update to the stable 1.1.4
Unfortunately, since I had so many copies of OOo on my computer, from 1.0
onwards, I decided to uninstall all of them before downloading 1.1.4, not
realising that OOo had switched over to Bit Torrent downloads.
I have downloaded and installed JRE 5.0

links or pictures it could slow things down a little. 2300 rows
really isn't large in the scheme of things... Were there a lot of
columns involved??

At least in OOo 1.1.4, you can get longer hyphens as well (and I can't
see why this would have changed in later versions).
The problem is that the standard keyboards do not include them. So you
have to insert them via the Insert Special Character menu, or use the
Unicode numbers: type Alt + 0150
This large hyphen is called a dash.

Once you have created the formula (say in writer), copy and paste it
into draw. Keep the object selected, then select fileexport ... You
can choose from any of the many graphic filters to export it into
(personally I prefer .png).
