your first order of business is to write the clause
for the contract that stipulates how to measure these

Hi all,
Someone has approached me with a proposal: I would optimize their
website, submit it to search engines, etc. and they would pay me
only if they got results. I am not sure if I am going to do this
yet or not, but I was wondering if anyone could point me to a

Thanks Franni.
I am not worried about being paid - one of the guys I know really well,
but you are right - they are looking for someone to work for free. If
(big IF) I did this I would make a very clear cut contract for them to
sign. Is this even worth my while?

I agree Jon. They sell replacement windows. The website (for those who
are interested) is www.zenwindows.com. The guy told me that they are
not having a lot of people fill out their online form. Well, it took me
a few minutes to find the link to it!!
Thanks,

Well, I suppose if you are sitting at home wondering where the next
buck is coming from it might be better than getting bored stiff!

Only you can judge that, Riva - I've spent most of my admin time this

Thanks for the advice.

Thanks Deb. I am not going to do it. It is hard enough when you do a

I think they're crazy to say this. For something as common as windows, a
prospect will comparison shop. A bad website = lack of credibility. Their
site is not good.

Dear Hardnose Tim ;-) ,
The fact that so many programs have spell checkers today makes it even
more inexcusable. I heard from a HR person once that, when they post a
job, if any of the resumes have typos or spelling mistakes on them (in
the cover letter), they don't even bother looking at the
