One thing I would try is adding the 'noapic' perameter to your
kernel at boot. Either to your grub.conf or lilo.conf depending on
whether your using lilo or grub to boot linux. Just add the word noapic
to the end of the line that says something like:
kernel /vmlinuz-2.4.20-8 ro /dev/hda1
But I thought the core X font / print calls like in motif don't support
UTF-8 ?!

You're missing an 'EndSection' directive after the 'FontPath' line (ie, for
the 'files' section)
No idea why installing MySQL etc would do anything with your X config file!
If you still want to generate a new one, use 'xf86config' or (better, IMHO) 'X
-configure'

I have hp pavilion ze4420. I have installed red hat 9.
When I try to setup the modem it says no modem found,
I gues it is a win modem, I am not sure if red hat
supports win modem or not, How am I going to set up
the modem, if any help about this, I will be really

This card should be supported by the nv driver that comes
with XFree86 4.3. I believe XFree86 4.3 is what comes with Red Hat 9.
We'll need to see the /var/log/XFree86.0.log file to see what the
problem is.

I have comipled Xfree86 latest stable with Gnome 2.2.1 .
It is running fine.super but in my editors like gedit unicode is not
functioning. i have did all localedef, key mapping etc for my nepali
language.
AM i missing somehitng at the compile time of Xfree86 or Glibc?
