As Long as the pipe is not exposed or if it is it meets the normal
restrictions for cpvc, it should be ok.

Subject: RE: CPVC w/o water between riser and FDC

In this particular case it is a run of about 40 ft. through some sprinklered
rooms. Still seems OK?

We have never been concerned with this and I'd say it's standard
practice on most 13R systems throughout the Southwest. It's generally
a short run of pipe if the FDC is on the wall.

Subject: CPVC w/o water between riser and FDC

We are reviewing a proposal for a wet pipe sprinkler system using CPVC pipe.
However, there is a run of CPVC pipe between the FDC and the riser that is
dry, is this standard practice or acceptable?

Thanks,
