Ok so let's just remember that if you have insufficient "Fire Flow" per the I codes, one of the alternatives is to fire sprinkler the property. So in the I-codes Sprinkler = Reduced fire flow requirements or an alternative to full fire flow provisions.
Let's say I do a flow test that shows I have 1500 GPM available @ 20 Psi, but the required fire flow for this building and type is 2750 Gpm. What can I do? Provide fire sprinklers of course with AHJ approval. Does that come out of the available fire flow? Of course it does, because I've still only got 1500 Gpm available. It's not added to the minimum fire flow, it's part of the fire flow. Thom McMahon, SET Firetech, Inc. 2560 Copper Ridge Dr P.O. And yes the fire flow accommodates the demand for both. I'm trying to figure how much storage is needed. _______________________________________________ Sprinklerforum mailing list [email protected] http://fireball.firesprinkler.org/mailman/listinfo/sprinklerforum For Technical Assistance, send an email to: [email protected] To Unsubscribe, send an email to:[email protected] (Put the word unsubscribe in the subject field)
