Bell will not allow me to own the modem; they insist on renting/leasing it out- no choice in the matter. I still own the old router.
I am attaching a screen shot of my settings for my private network which is all my devices (Computer, SB and Boom) Do the settings look right or should those Open DNS entries be entered under first and last DHCP. Sorry this is all quite mysterious to me but I have been searching online for more information about how IP addreses work and DHCP. I was able to connect one player to mysqueezebox.com while the computer was off for about 20 minutes and then it disconnected on its own and would not reconnect. It seems strange because when I connected my friends laptop computer when my computer was off it stayed connected wirelessly for about 4 -5 hours with no problems whatsoever. I took a few notes of things that are bothering me and there are three points I want to reiterate. 1)I can sometimes get one player to connect and rarely both when my computer is off. Why does it work sometimes but not always. 2)Control Panel (when SB Server is stopped) Alert says "Possible software conflict found We've seen that your Squeezebox Server is configured to use a proxy server. In this configuration connectivity to mysqueezebox.com on port 3483 can't be tested. We were not able to successfully communicate with mysqueezebox.com This might be a temporary internet issue, or a limitation imposed by your ISP. If the problem persists, please make sure your firewall is not blocking outgoing traffic." Also Ports 3483 and 9000 Fail in this instance. What has changed when the SB Server is stopped that this occurs-the router is working for my internet at this point but not for mysqueezebox.com.
