All good ideas, but setting up manual recordings would be tedious. For some reason the tivo suggestions stopped recording a couple weeks ago, maybe because I haven't watched any in a while. I watched a few and deleted about half of them, hoping maybe it will kick start it into recording more. It would only have to record something now and then to fix this problem, or at least mask it.
I have tried keying in the channel, no dice. I was on channel 109 (BBC), and keyed in 109 on the remote, enter, and nothing changes, still no signal. Here's another quirk, not relevant, but it gives you an idea of how this thing works..... One tuner was on channel 109 and has a blank screen. I switch to the other tuner, and change to channel 107. It works, 109 still blank on the other tuner. Same with a Chan Up to 108. Here's the interesting part. Channel up again, and it actually swapped tuners, 109 is still blank, and the other tuner stayed on 108. Channel up again, channel 109 still blank, and the other tuner is on channel 110. I didn't see that one coming. Since this only happens after it sits for a while (8 hours plus) once I get signal I can't replicate the issue any longer until it's sat idle. I have seen both tuners in the same condition, changing one tuner's channel will wake up that channel, but not the other tuner. I'm guessing since even by entering the channel directly, the tuning adapter still didn't get instruction to request that channel, it's not going to be an easy fix for Tivo.... more to follow on another email.
