I doubed this as this action clears the chat. it's like in a
word-processor, if you want a new fresh file to start with, this command
is in "file". Also it's more like "close chat" to start over so it's in
the same menu. Though, it also "edits" the content you are working on

Edit, it would be the first action, then a speparator, then the
copy/paste actions ...
humm.. indeed.. but it's very confusing... in my brain, 'clear' is
something to edit the current window, not a 'file' thing, since we don't
open a new hat with someone, we dont' close SB, we dont' send anything
over SB, we just modify the current text widget...
you see, those ambiguities are why I said the HIG is not enough to be used
as a design specs ;)

what should it do ? same as "Send message" from actions menu in CL ?

webcam setup doesn't have its place in edit menu...
Well, the HIG describes to put the "Preferences" item as last item in
the "Edit" menu. As there are no "Chat preferences" I thought it would
be most naturally to put it here as it's also preferences. Also I don't
think it fitts in "view", nor "chat" ofr "contact"
ok I understand, but I'm not ok with it, first because I don't think
preferences should go in 'Edit', maybe because we're talking about a
contact and we can't 'set it up' (maybe custom nick, etc...) but then I'm
not better than those who wrote the HIG, so I leave that to them and you
can ignore my personal feeling on this... but webcam prefs has nothing to
do with a 'chat window', it should be in the contact list menu.. compare
with MSN 7.5's menus.. I think we should mix up MSN7.5 menus with current
menus (more for functionality reasons, like chat style for ex.) and use
the HIG to glue all that together... webcam prefs shoudn't be in a chat
window menu imho.. but I understand why you did it and thx for the
explanation.
some stuff should be more explicit, like 'add to list' could become 'add
all participants to my contact list'...
I just put 'a' name. the "naming" itself is done buy the translator
anyway...
humm... overall, I don't like how you have it set it up.. maybe I'm just
wrong... let's wait for more feedback.
about having one document for all of it, that was my idea, glad we're on
the same frequency! :) use the wiki for it, Tom could help you, he has
great UI design skills, and he can provide mockups (for stuff other than
the menus which are pretty explicit)
