As for the software version myth, this is a good thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=28074
In short, if you were out there using a modded SB straight into an amp, using the "approved" firmware version, you were basically setting yourself up for degraded sound. People just like to make stuff up, I guess, rather then read the facts. Slim Devices curteously lists bug fixes, etc. -- highdudgeon SB3->Lavry DA10->Nuforce 9.02s->Harbeth Monitor 30s/Skylan stands. Simple and satisfying. In a larger room, I would move back to larger speakers, subs, and probably RCS. My larger speakers were, natch, Harbeth Monitor 40s with dual ACI Force subwoofers, a Bel Canto line stage (wonderful device) a Rane EQ system, and measurement gear including calibrated mics, a Presonus audio device, measurement software for the Mac, etc. It's nice being back to simple. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ highdudgeon's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2195 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=28080 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
