I don't know myself but he's been at it since 1992 & apparently his professional range sells well to studios. His studio design prototypes were used to record artists including Bowie, Lou Reed & Maria Carey, so I suspect that at least he's not inept. Not having been there, I can't say exactly how he conducted his iterative design methodology, but I think that he should at least get a Gold Blue Peter Badge (UK kiddy TV show) for bothering to try doing it that way. He would have had access to the necessary kit & source material to eliminate personal bias by ABX against "The Real Thing" if he chose, that's all I'm saying. If nothing else, I've got a neat balanced headphone amp/MM-MC preamp combo in one sexy little box, with a display capable of impressing my occasional guests that I can turn off when I'm on my own. Your throw-away gag reminded me of the joke about UK school staffing problems "A year ago I couldn't even spell teacher, & now I are one". Sorry if you've heard it before. Eccelesiastes applies again, probably... :D Dave :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Golden Earring's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66646 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106519 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
