They couldn't use SAPi. They would have to "Reinvent the wheel' and design a
speech interface from scratch.

Hmmm, that sounds interesting to say the least. Could console game makers 
use Sappi to do this? I wonder if this could be done for DVD players as 
well?
I suppose you would still need alot of software modification to utilize 
something like that anyway.
