Yeah, there are some state and local laws that allow minority owned business
to get contracts even if they didn't have the best bid.

It's very interesting how some of these laws work, and while they help some
people, they also hurt others.

Technically speaking, a white male can be passed over for a job because he
is a white male, and if he claims discrimination everybody laughs, however
if a black male gets passed over because he is a black male, then it is
illegal.

The Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination based on race, color,
religion, sex or national origin.

So shouldn't it be just as illegal to pass over a white guy because he is
white, or a guy?
