Mariss from Gecko suggested this to me early on, so we super glued the collars to the shafts. This did indeed help a little, one of them was slipping badly, the others perhaps a small amount. He also suggested adding a tiny bit of silicone caulk to one of the cogs in the gear to take up any slop in the fit (both pieces are plastic after all).
